Paleontology and geology

Cambrian rocks are found only in the subsurface in Indiana, and consist primarily of sandstones, siltstones, and shales. However, there are some Cambrian limestones that contain trilobites. These fossil trilobites are fragmented, but still identifiable, and help to determine the age of the rocks.
