Paleontology and geology

All Silurian rocks in Utah are limestones formed in shallow, warm seas. Fossils from this time include corals, brachiopods, algae, and trilobites. Although this map only indicates the presence of undifferentiated rocks, there are scattered outcrops of Silurian rocks throughout the western part of the state, as shown on the map provided by the Utah Geological Survey.
