Paleontology and geologyThere are no surface rocks of Cambrian age in Nebraska. However, evidence from drill cores reveals that Nebraska was above sea level in the early Cambrian and then invaded by a shallow sea during the late Cambrian. Few fossils are available because these rocks are known only from drill cores, but fossils would be similar to Cambrian reef fossils from Missouri and might include trilobites, brachiopods, and stromatolites. |
